How To Set up a Bluetooth Keyboard

How To Set up a Bluetooth Keyboard

Technology is so fun to use if you know how to use it. It can also be something that strikes fear in people if you don't know how to use it. Things are smaller and faster than ever before, and it seems that people rely on technology more and more. And let's say you go out to your local tech store and you go buy a brand new Bluetooth keyboard and you are so excited about it but don't know how to set it up and you are a little wary about it. Well, if this sounds like you then continue to read, because you are going to learn how to do it.

The biggest problem people have with technology when they say it doesn't work is that they forget to check the power. Whether it is batteries, a battery pack, or a plug in to an electrical outlet, the power is the simplest thing to overlook. Make sure you have the correct batteries and number for your keyboard. You are probably going to need AA batteries, it should take three of them.

Now, included in this package should be a USB cable. You need to get this USB cable to go from your home computer to your Bluetooth adapter. This is only in the case that you don't have any Bluetooth capability on your home computer that is already built in.

Now, you should be all set to turn it on. You've got power in the keyboard, and you have a USB cable running from your Bluetooth adapter to your personal home computer.

Turn the power on to the keyboard. What will happen next is that your computer will try to recognize it with a prompt. If you are working from a PC, then, from the Control Panel, you will click on the words Bluetooth Devices. If you are not on a PC and are working on a Mac instead, then you will need to go to the section called System Preferences, and then go to the Bluetooth Setup Assistant. But, with a Mac, you will need to go to this section first before you turn on the power to the keyboard.

In the Control Panel of your PC, you will need to click on the words Hardware and Sound. Then, simply click on the word Add. After that you need to follow the remaining instructions on the completion of the Bluetooth setup.

For a Mac, go to Select Devices, and click on the word Keyboard. You will see a certain model of keyboard pop up. Select the one you need. The computer, at this point, should be able to set up the keyboard the rest of the way without any more input from you. You now just have learned how to set up a Bluetooth keyboard.
